Christmas Break

It's funny how I used to absolutely despise Jordan touching my stomach at all and I feel like over the last two weeks I have not only encouraged, but forced his hand on to my round belly many times! While we had a busy break loving time with our family we also had more quiet time where Daddy was sitting right next to mommy and felt our Little Chap kicking away (it seems to always be when things are quiet). Mimi felt a big baby kick yesterday on our after Christmas shopping trip and it was so big it made her smile until she had sore cheeks.  One of my favorite parts of break was snuggling in bed in the morning.  While I wasn't much for sleeping in I was a big fan of laying their and soaking up snuggles for Jordan and Teddy.  New Year's day I woke up with Teddy assaulting me with a bear hug from the front and Jordan wrapped around my back resting his hand on little Puff.  It was the best way to start off the New Year (I wish I had been able to sleep in like the two of the them but I guess their company was welcomed).

I will admit that over our break I have been a roller coaster of emotions from thrilled to be getting things for little Puff and thinking this is so real.  To the opposite and questioning if "this" was a good idea.  We were blessed by time with friends and family and lots of spoiling as I mentioned for our Little Chap, by the end of the week I was so tired I was near tears and wanted nothing more than a big hug and back tickle from Jordan in my own bed all snuggled in.  Then we had a few days/nights of quiet time in our home and that is when I began to have  few moments of questioning our future.  I was sunk into the couch with Jordan and Teddy both laying by us all snuggled in our puffy blanket of warmth, reading my book, sipping my peppermint hot cocoa from Trader Joes when the terrible thoughts started to creep into my happy little brain.  I sat there relishing in that moment feeling completely in love with my husband and blessed to be spending time with him snuggled up, giggling about nothing on the couch, not a care in the world, and I realized this would not be the seen a year from now.  I suddenly envisioned dirty diapers, black bags under our half open eyes, spit up on my shirt, the living room floor covered in brightly colored plastic toys, my hair a straggly greasy mess, etc.  I had a momentary lapse of, "Oh Lord what have we done!"  We will never have a quiet night, clean house, plenty of sleep, relaxing moment again in our lives.  We have ruined our happy little lives.  Then on cue little Puff let out a few big kicks and Jordan put his hand over to have a feel and I realized while I am sure all of the above things are unfortunately going to be true, there will be that much more to love next year at this time of year.

Snuggled up in front of the Christmas tree, Hot Cocoa, Jammies, and all 3 of my boys!

Kids at heart playing a little Monopoly, Jordan won!
To add insult he also won when we played with my brother and mom too!

A lazy morning of snuggles with Teddy in our jammies with hot cocoa

The three of us ringing in the new year at the 2013 Olympics!
(notice our beautiful homemade shirts, Puff is labeled Made in America)

The red team, full of spirit but unfortunately we took home the silver.

We didn't do so well on the marshmallow toss, Quinn carried our team, but we still ended up third

Teddy was loving the New Years Day bowl game line up with plenty of time for cuddles!
