Eventful

We have had a full last week.  We started things off wishing the adorable Owen a happy first birthday.  He looked so dapper in his little jean shirt and his toothy smile.  He did a great job opening and playing with presents, sharing smiles, tasting cake, and being his absolutely adorable lovable self. Then we enjoyed the Pineview winter party.  I think, judging by the time he got home, Jordan enjoyed the night even more than me.  This week we enjoyed a late start, and a snow day.  Both of those were much appreciated in this house and helped us to get caught up on school/grad school work, cleaning, a little baking, laundry, reading and just some time spent together.  Friday my mom went with me to my apt. for our little puff and got to see him in action. He was definitely in action kicking, practicing breathing, blinking, hiccuping, stretching, and we could even see some fuzz on his head (hopefully he will have some beautiful brown or blond locks).  He is weighing at about 2lbs. 10 oz. at this point and growing away.  Then we went down and saw Mr. Camber again and this time he was very alert and adorable.  We got to snuggle him and watch him stretching and kicking.  He is ADORABLE!  We capped off the night with dinner in Ames.  Saturday was an amazing day.
We slept in and then jumped in our dirty car to trek down the road to Cedar Falls.  We enjoyed a target stop (I mean who doesn't enjoy a Target run). Then we had a delicious lunch, and since we were both starving we devoured it quickly.  Jordan headed for a haircut while I grabbed a couple of delectable cup cakes and meandered through a few shops. Jordan eventually found me in one of the baby shops downtown (I know close your moth from the shock).  He rescued me from the overwhelming and exciting mass of tiny trinkets and we checked into The Black Hawk Hotel.  We checked in and played some games enjoying our time together before getting dressed up to head to a yummy dinner at Montage.  We stopped off at The Stuffed Olive where Jordan enjoyed a few drinks and I enjoyed a couple stuffed olives.  We then finished our night with our cupcakes for dessert or a bed time snack if you will. We enjoyed the evening together just catching up without distractions, no t.v. no dog, no friends, no one, just us (Puff did occasionally make his presence known with some kicks, I think he was thanking me for the ridiculous amount of good eats he was recieving).  Today we enjoyed sleeping in and breakfast before the reality of grad school was looming over our heads.  We at least decided to complete that while sitting in a cozy coffee shop in Cedar Falls before heading home.  Now I am trying to stay motivated to continue working on school while I am listening to the wind howl outside (not an easy task).  I really want to drink some of my hot cocoa and snuggle up with my baby under a blanket with my book, but I suppose I should put first things first and get my work done so I can do that this evening.
