4 Months!

Seriously that smile melts my heart everyday, all day!

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times! That pretty much sums up this past month Buddy Boo, and that was just how it was suppose to be.  This month you started sleeping through the night!!!! Hip-Hip-Hooray! To say that this went smoothly would be a lie.  Let's just say your sleep consumed your mama's world (and still does a little).  If you look at the 3 month post, you had just started doing all sorts of waking up at night and this went on for... a few nights.  After trial and error: letting you cry, comforting you, feeding you, letting you cry, burping you, back sleeping, swaddling, tummy sleeping, tears from mom, confused stares from Daddy wondering what had happened to you and Mama, and plenty of tries you eventually gave in and decided you would just sleep it off.  Luckily MiMi and Grandma are around and helped out and some friends were listening ears for Mama while she tried to figure out what was best for you Buddy. Hind sight is always 20/20 and I think it may have been a growth spurt that started you off on this path because you are one big baby these days.  You are sleeping through the night from about 7:30ish to 6:45ish but we still do a dream feed around 10:30.  You eat 40 oz a day Bub! Your nap schedule still has its ups and downs, but if you keep sleeping all night Mama can deal with that.

This month you found your voice for sure!!! You scream with joy often and sometimes when you are mad too (We think being around your friend Eden may have contributed to that).  You are rolling from your tummy to your back sometimes (The first time you did this was August 2nd).  You have mastered how to grab things (especially hair).

Getting soooo big!

 Mom is trying to adjust to this new trick as today you about pulled the popcorn bowl off the counter when she was standing too close. Your newest favorite thing is sucking our thumb.  This task you nailed during our week at the lake.  We have heard you squeal or let one little laugh go, but this past week we heard your first true giggles and laughs.  We picked you up from your first day with Renea at daycare (August 6th) and she told us you were giggling! Of course your Mama was determined to hear that sweet sound, but she was unsuccessful for a couple days.  You did it the next day for MiMi (August 7th) and finally Mama got you to do it for her on Friday, August 8th. Daddy has you squealing a lot when he holds you up high and you drool all over him.  That is your number one hobby right now...drooling!  The best is when you smile and a big wave of it rushes past those gummy little flood gates.  You grab anything you can get your hands on and put it right into your mouth.  You have started using your Bumbo and look like such a big boy in it!  You splish and splash in the tub at night but you are always sure to let us know when you are ready to get out!  You are an absolute kicking machine and love to lay on your back and kick, kick, kick! If you are kicking you love to lay with your little legs all tucked up like a froggy and mama finds this adorable, especially because it shows off all your massive rolls. You are very alert now days and like to be entertained and watch people and things go by.

It has been a month of learning and we ran a little short on sleep but you make Mommy and Daddy's hearts so full with your smiles that we wouldn't trade anything for this past month with you!
