We had a fantastically relaxing week up in Minnesota. We started off the week at lake Minnewaska arriving at Peter's Sunset Beach Resort on Sunday afternoon. Our family has had many fun times at this resort including the infamous "trampoline fiasco" of approximately 2002. Note to anyone going to Pete's they now have a no food or beverage policy on the water trampoline. This is also where my wonderful parents took their first trip as husband and wife. Yes apparently it was custom to head to the Caribbean and stay at an all inclusive resort back in the day.
But anyway... This stay we enjoyed a variety of "activities" including: king of the shark mat, golf, biking, running, swimming, grilling, drinking, bocce ball, shuffle board, shopping, reading, bon fires, basketball, sun bathing, bags, king of the aquagym, water skiing, gazing at the "beautiful" tree and probably some others in there. We enjoyed time spent together without distractions from work (however, grad-school didn't not give us a break). After spending some time at the lake we stopped at my aunt and uncle's in Minneapolis to enjoy some more time with extended family including meeting my cousins beautiful baby girl Paige.
A week away with my family was just what I needed. We don't always get to see each other as often as i would like since we are scattered across the midwest, but I consider us lucky to have the opportunity to spend a week together in the summer and see each other for most holidays. I could bore you all with the details of what we did each day, but I think for it to really be interesting you just "had to be there". Now it is time to kiss my sun kissed skin good bye and continue working on my classroom.
