Well I am not exactly sure what happened to September, but I am pretty sure there were a few black holes that swallowed my time and energy this past month. School was one of them. I am enjoying getting into a normal routine and the cooler weather has helped immensely with my attitude and energy level at school (seriously who likes a sweaty smelly teacher?!) This is also impart because my kids energy is a lot more positive and a lot less whiny (and we all stink less and hug more). A second hole that sadly has consumed me has been grad school. All I can say is I will be thrilled when that chapter of my life is over. (I remember thinking in college I can't wait to have a job and be done with school, obviously that was a silly notion. Also why did I even want to leave college?!) My bed/couch have been a shameful portion of the hole I have crept into also (9:00 bed time is normal right?).
The other blessings that have been detaining me from taking the time to write are:
a couple of Iowa football games
a UNI football game
visiting friends
visiting friends and family in Iowa City and Story City
my favorite snuggly fur ball at home
my favorite snuggly non hairy guy
brunch with high school and college friends
some extremely long phone conversations with friends and family I haven't seen in way too long
To kick off October I am looking forward to going to the pumpkin patch weather pending tomorrow and decorating our house a little for fall. I am hoping to snag some gourds and indian corn from my dad's garden to go with our pumpkins (my dad was a farmer in his past life judging by his garden and obsession with weather, love you dad). I am also thinking a little homemade goodness of either lasagna or chili will be the perfect way to enjoy a house ready for fall. I am just happy we will be spending an entire weekend together and with not much on the docket. Hopefully you are all able to enjoy sometime with your family this weekend too!
