Boy or Girl? That is the question!

Well time continues to fly by without me having time to dedicate you all.  I promise we have actually been busy this time, not me just being tired all day and night.  I am happy to report that I have been feeling much better and have a lot more energy.  Sleeping has been an issue for me, not due to being uncomfortable I think the baby just wants me to be an insomniac now so I am prepared.
The month of November has been a fun one and a busy one.  The first weekend we kicked off the month by celebrating my mom's belated birthday in Iowa City.  We did a little tailgating prior to the Iowa game and spent some time at Nic's place before heading out for a delicious dinner. It was wonderful to see the whole family as this won't happen again until Christmas since Nic is over in Europe for a couple weeks. Then I enjoyed a busy start to the week with having a sub two days for meetings.  I am blessed to have a very caring group of kids this year.  Tuesday morning I was able to see the students before I had a meeting later that day and as they said, "Your back!  Where have you been?!  You have been gone forever!"  When I reminded them it was one day, they informed me but it was three days without me due to the weekend.  Needless to say they were not thrilled about having a sub for a second day.  The rest of that week was playing catch up.
The next weekend was a busy one just getting things picked up and enjoying some holiday open houses at the gift shops in the area.  Sunday we enjoyed seeing our friends, and hopefully one day Baby S's in-laws, after church for lunch, fellowship and football.  Then I took off with Ali to go to a house warming party for Jenscie and Jacob.  It was fun to see their apartment which will be their first place together and I am sure full of many memories. I was blessed to have a "normal" week of school to follow this weekend (probably the last one before Christmas)!
The third weekend was a little get away.  Jordan hit the road with his family on Friday to go watch the Buckeyes in IL (I know right?).  While they were engaging in that silliness my mama and I kicked off the holiday shopping season by heading up to MN.  I had to get a few maternity essentials although I am not actually wearing maternity clothes yet I wanted to have a few things on hand for when the time comes.  I also found a maternity dress to wear to Jacob and Jenscie's wedding.  We enjoyed shopping all day and catching up.  We were very efficient and seemed to get things checked off our lists quickly so we decided that the next time we do a girls weekend we won't mind if there is a baby girl or baby boy along to throw us off schedule :) Sunday night was an early one for me though!
The next week was one full of fun stuff!  Tuesday night my friend Jamie came up with her little boy Jaxson and we enjoyed catching up!  Jamie is one of my best friends from college.  We are one of those lucky dream stories of random roommates assigned our freshmen year and by Christmas we both cried to have to say good-bye for a whole couple weeks (we of course made plans to meet throughout break because a whole month would be unbearable).  It was so fun to see her and to watch Action Jax, who is now fully mobile and crawling all over.  He is happy content little monkey man and she is an amazing mommy.  Jordan's parents also stopped by that night to have Jordan try on his tux for the wedding an luckily they did or he would have been Steve Urkel out on the dance floor.  Wednesday was a busy work night with grad school, report cards, another day of sub plans, and cleaning.  Thursday started off with another day of meetings and away from my students.  The meeting went well and I hosted a Stella and Dot party for my good friend Addie that evening.  It was fun and I enjoyed seeing her in action as a stylist.  Between the snow and a few friends who forgot I enjoyed a small crowd and we had fun trying on scarves and beautiful jewelry.  It was another great night but I was starting to feel the energy just draining from my body!
Friday we kicked off the weekend by jumping in the car right after school to head up to Randall for Jacob and Jenscie's wedding!!!!  The rehearsal and Jacobs birthday were on Friday and it was fun to see everyone.  Things went smooth and the couple enjoyed their close friends and family and tasty food.  Saturday the big wedding went down and it and the bride were BEAUTIFUL!  It was fun to spend time with family and friends.  Jenscie (and I am sure loosely Jacob) did a great job of planning the wedding and reception and it was wonderful.  I was looking forward to being the person who was going to wake up the next day without a headache or tummy ache of any kind, but little puff must have had a lot of fun staying up late too and woke me up early.  So even though I dank water and did a minimal amount of dancing (but lots of talking) I had a rough morning (but it was worth it).  I will eventually post some pictures but not tonight.
And now as I am writing this I am thinking of how I got my grad school done and a huge part of report cards done tonight, but it may be about time to hit the hay.  I have enjoyed going to bed lately as at night I am usually able to feel puff kicking/moving when I lay still and focus on it.  Tuesday we are praying for a very "unmodest" (perhaps he will take after his aunt Ali) healthy baby so we can find out if little puff is in fact a boy or girl so stay tuned!
