Thankful Always

This Thanksgiving and every Thanksgiving I have been blessed to have many things to be thankful for.  I am healthy and blessed to have wonderful family and friends to share and create memories with.  I have a job that I love.  The list could go on and on.  This year I have one more thing to add to my list.  And that is the blessing of a healthy little baby BOY!!!!!! Growing away inside me.  Tuesday morning was probably the best day yet.  I had been starting to get anxious a few days prior to our ultrasound.  I was hitting the stage of reality where I didn't care if I saw my little chap's goods as long as I got to see that tiny little heart ticking away, a little brain starting to grow (and eventually earn him a scholarship), all his little bones and all the other organs they were going to point out.  Well after many prayers from his mama and dada, grandparents and friends God listened and showed it all.  I was amazed that I didn't cry during the ultra-amazing ultrasound, especially since I think I cried about 3 or 4 times in the car on the drive there.  It didn't take long for it to sink in as we sat back in the waiting area and the waterworks sprung again.  I would like to blame hormones, but lets face it if you know me I cry.  So this year that is one of the big things I am thankful for, however I realize that little chap wouldn't be growing away without someone else.  I am extremely thankful for his daddy.  My husband, my partner in crime, my best friend and my prince.
(Actually a friend of ours gave Jordan a hug and said "Congrats Dad!"
To which her five year old said, "He isn't your dad?!"
She said, "No but he is a Dad."
"HUH?!"
"You know the baby in Elizabeth's belly...(head nod) well he helped with that!"
"Ohhh."
So these are the conversations of our future.)

Anyway I am extremely thankful for Jordan and here are a few reasons why:
  • The silly excitement we share over holidays and traditions, we are Christmas freaks to say the least!
  • His absolutely BEAUTIFUL blue eyes!
  • The spot on his left shoulder that cradles my head perfectly in the early morning hours when I wish I were still sleeping soundly like him.
  • The energizer bunny in him that goes and goes if there is an important job to be done.  Jordan staying up till midnight is pretty spectacular, but if there is a job to be done the right side of the bed may be cold until 2 a.m. without a complaint.
  • They way he tickles my back, even if he had a super fun night and he should be the one hugging the toilette but instead he is sitting behind me on the floor tickling my back and comforting me (this is just in the last few months).
  • His ability to tell a joke, laugh through the whole thing, demolish the punchline and still leave me crying from laughing.
  • His pictionary skills ("Its a laser to shrink stuff!") and all of his game skills even though we are both competitive so that doesn't always bode well.
  • His determination and passion that often pushes us full steam ahead through the snow banks when I am ready to throw in the towel.
  • How good looking he is, I mean if Juan Pablo and Owen Wilson had a baby (if that were possible) apparently it would look like Jordan!
  • The way he adores our puppy dog as much as me and doesn't think I am crazy when he, the dog, licks my face all over.
There are a thousand more reasons I love him and thank God every day that he brought us together, but you are probably gagging or bored at this point so I think I will just stop!  I just hope my little baby will make his wife as happy as his daddy makes his mommy one day!

Don't forget to count your blessing and say a prayer of Thanksgiving today!

Our growing boy is in that belly
(first time wearing maternity pants, plenty of room for Thanksgiving feast today)!

Mama and Dada are super thankful for each other and you!
You have already run away with our hearts!

There it is!

Daddy's favorite picture of your little profile
(you were busy snuggling up to mama and it was hard to get you to turn and see us)

Mommy's favorite picture of your profile!
(This is when her bladder was still full and you weren't moving as much)
So happy mama's cheeks hurt from smiling so much the last couple days!
